Evolution in financial profitability and debt according to size of organizations of management of sports facilities of non-competitive leisure
Size and structure in sports organizations are determining variables for survival, these variables being
fundamental for financial profitability and debt rate in the face of an adverse economic crisis. For this
reason, the objective of the present study was to know the evolution in the past economic crisis
between size, financial profitability and indebtedness, of the companies that favor non-competitive
sports leisure in organizations of management of Spanish sports facilities. For the selection of the
sample a systematic search was carried out in the system of analysis of Iberian balances on a total of
1,760 companies of management of sports facilities, registered in the National Code of Economic
Activities (CNAE) 9311 between the years 2005-2012. After the economic crisis, financial
profitability and indebtedness affected larger organizations and, to a lesser extent, small and mediumsized enterprises. We can see how after the crisis and as was foreseeable, there is a decrease in the
percentages of negative sign in large and microenterprises, and reduction but of positive sign in the
small and medium
Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are a decisive link of activity and employment in
every economy, also in the Spanish economy. SMEs can have very varied shapes and sizes. The
Commission of the European Community made a recommendation in 2003 to define them, taking
into account annual turnover, annual balance sheet and annual work units, separating and identifying
them according to their size medium, small and microenterprise. In order to carry out the empirical
study, we obtained the financial and accounting information from the SABI database for the activity
management companies of the gyms (MCG) and of companies of management of sports facilities
(MSF) registered in the national classification of activities (CNAE) between the years 2004-2012.
We had two research objectives. They were firstly to classify these organizations by their legal form,
geographic location and size, and secondly to explore the evolution of the total assets, operating
revenue and number of employees for the organizations as a whole. As for MSF, the presence of
microenterprises and small enterprises, with 59.5% and 35.9%, respectively, mainly working as
Limited Companies (SL), should be highlighted. In the case of MCG, the presence of all sizes of
SMEs in the communities of Catalonia and the Community of Madrid stands out. Most are microenterprises and work as SL. It can be concluded that the MSF and the Spanish MCG are mostly of
small size, operating under the legal personality of SL, observed as the size has a direct relation in
the studied economic variables, being the smaller SMEs the ones that present a smaller change after
the crisis

Healthy lifestyle: relationship between mediterranean diet, body composition and physical fitness in 13 to 16-years old icelandic students
Childhood and adolescent obesity are currently among the greatest challenges for public health. Physical activity, physical fitness, and adherence to the Mediterranean diet (MD), representing powerful indicators of healthy lifestyles, are shown as determinant factors in the prevention and treatment of obesity. The aim of the present study has been to analyse the relationship
between health-related physical fitness components, body composition, and adherence to MD in 387 Icelandic adolescents of 13–16-years old (54% boys). The ALPHA Fitness Test was used to measure physical fitness and body composition. The KIDMED questionnaire was used to assess the adherence to MD among participants. Associations between variables were tested according to gender and age using linear regression models and analysis of variance. Participants with high/medium adherence to MD showed significantly higher endurance scores in both the boys and the girls. Gender differences were found. The boys in high/medium MD categories had significantly lower fat percentages and ran a 4 × 10 m sprint faster than the girls. The girls scored higher than the boys in endurance and speed-agility tests. It can be concluded that a high and medium adherence to MD is associated with high and very high endurance in both the girls and the boys
Ergogenic aids in competitive handball players: a narrative review.
Handball performance is a team-sport characterized by high intensity efforts interspersed with recovery periods. Due to high demands of handball performance, the use of ergogenic aids is a common strategy of handball players with the aim of enhancing handball performance, to allow more effective training, and to increase the rate of recovery. Although the use of ergogenic aids is generalized in the whole spectrum of competitive handball (e.g., from recreational to professional players), only a few ergogenic aids have been investigated to test their effectiveness to increase handball performance. In addition, no previous study has summarized the scientific literature on this topic to determine the ergogenic aids with good level of evidence regarding their effectiveness to increase handball physical performance. Thus, the aim of this narrative review was to describe the prevalence in the use of ergogenic aids in handball players and to analyse this information to identify which of these substances may increase physical performance in an intermittent sport such as competitive handball.post-print690 K
Analysis and differences in labor satisfaction of human resources and volunteers with athletes with intellectual disability
Job satisfaction is a determining factor in the results of sports organizations.
However, if we focus on the personnel that make possible the development of sport with
intellectual disabilities, we find an absence on the job satisfaction of these workers. Currently
neither the professional profile nor job satisfaction corresponding to people who manage, work
and develop their functions are identified. For this reason, the objective of this study was to
analyze the differences in the job satisfaction of workers and volunteers who work with athletes
with intellectual disabilities. For the analysis of job satisfaction we used the scale or tool of
Overall Job Satisfaction of Warr, Cook, and Wall, this was created in the United Kingdom in
order to analyze workers regardless of their training. Finally, for the results of the present study,
the profile of the worker is mostly single with an age range between 31 to 40 years, without
qualification related to the professional family of physical activity and sports sciences. Also, the
present study shows a moderately satisfied worker in a generalized way, with differences
between job satisfaction if he performs his function as a volunteer or as an employee
Physical activity as an opportunity for social entrepreneurship in the prevention of obesity
Obesity is a global health problem and is considered one of the most serious and

entrepreneurship generates benefits from a business model that pursues a social purpose,
creating a business that meets the needs of society without renouncing market strategies. The
objective of the present is to see the role of physical activity as a tool of social entrepreneurship
in the prevention of obesity, defining and reviewing the threat that obesity represents to society,
and offering some examples of how social enterprises are directed through of physical activity.
Social entrepreneurship is shown as a possible tool to stop physical inactivity and obesity,
however, the effectiveness of this must be studied in greater depth

Gamification and mobile applications to entrepreneurship: an educational proposal in Higher Education
Gamification is a booming phenomenon with many applications in the educational field. This
tool consists of using the mechanics of the game in order to boost motivation, concentration
or effort, creating an improvement of the teaching-learning process. Precisely in the sports
sector there are previous experiences that have used gamification to change the behavior of
it is users. Based on this, this work had the objective of promoting the entrepreneurial spirit
of university students through the creation of a mobile application linked to sport and
gamification. This experience was applied in subjects of the bachelor in Sciences of the
Physical Activity and of Sport, and Administration and Direction of Companies. For this
reason, for to achieve the goal eight phases were established as well as assessments to
measure the performance of the teaching actions. The teaching experience ended with a
contest of enterprising ideas on the part of the students, presenting the mobile application,
as well as the business and marketing plan. Experiences of this type help the development
of specific competences linked to entrepreneurship in the university, serving as the basis for
future teacher innovation projects
